About Me

Draw Your Own Metaphor

My Facebook Cover Photo

My life is finally a stage. Shakespeare seems to have captured the gist of what I am feeling right now as I embark on this blog. This oft quoted monologue of Jacques… “the world is a stage and all men and women are merely players…We have our entrances and our exits”, is what is going through my mind.

Jacques presents life simply in neat packages of varying phases. But is that all there is? Do we come into this world then as infants, passing through the stages – only to end up alone … and with finality engage in one last lonely discourse … a soliloquy on our death-bed?… “Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything?” The thought, albeit tragic, conjures up a heart-searching and very thought provoking tableau… but that’s the inevitable. Evidence of my own mortality is right before my eyes as I lovingly gaze at my own aging, however still gorgeous and quite dynamic, mother.

The Good News

The good news is that God promises me a place where there are no more tears, no more pain, no more sickness. And so with that assurance, I embrace growing old, “sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste and sans everything”…I will venture to live each day graciously and joyously – worshiping Him in everything that I do.
This, my own last soliloquy, is what the multitude of angels will hear as they welcome me to heaven for the second and final time…”Praise be to God for all that I was, for all that I am, for all that I will be!” Such exaltation, if ever, will be the title to the last entry of this blog as I write on my keyboard sans teeth, sans etc.

Pretty Cool!

So here I am! This blog is a pretty cool way to star in your own never ending/unfolding saga of one’s own life journey. Please go ahead and read away my dear guest…my life is now an open book. Be bored, be intrigued, be amused, but most of all I hope that you will be blessed by how God is continuing to mold me and use me. I am now a surrendered life…

With the possible picture of me in my oncoming senior years all bent and stooped still clickin’ away in front of my computer…have a blessed day! :)
From yours truly: an Itinerant Child of God,

Ana Patrice

Website for Alumni Group

This is a website developed for an Alumni group whose president then was a classmate of mine in high school. Now that I am more adept and knowledgeable in coding I would like to change some elements of the design.

One particular highlight I am fond of is the page for the Governing Board Directory. You might want to click on the link and take a look at it. This uses the jQuery Flip plug-in.

For the full tutorial of this fun technique please go to Tutorialzine.com.

Nemo Fondant Cake for Mom

My Fondant Cakes

I was thoroughly enjoying my cake research initially intended to come up with a cake design for my mom’s 82nd birthday. But my original objective was momentarily set aside when I became enthralled with images of Christmas and storybook themed cakes that I chanced upon on flickr.com. Works of art that make your heart ache thinking that they are now all gone. Digested by some very lucky stomachs – my secret wish is that the cakes are still in existence somewhere in a hereafter. The cakes’ demise aside and fully inspired, my hands were at this point itching to make my own elaborate creations.

One particular Nemo cake took my breath away…I don’t know how long I gazed at it.  I fell in love with the 3D sculpture art. Officially now a huge fan of the Cake Designer/Artist. (Note to self: make a separate future post on the Designer/Artist). I must make this for my mom!  But a Nemo cake? It’s a design more fitting for a child. Mmmmmm…

To make a long story short…I ended up making one just like it for my dear Mama Rio. I skipped some of the finer details of the original design as I was pressed for time. The cake below is the original cake.

This one is my version. Not too bad eh?
